What is Hypnotherapy?

What is Trance?
One of the tremendous advantages of this type of therapy is trance. Trance is very ordinary in many ways. We go into trance many times a day, it is a perfectly natural state to be in.
You may be surprised to know that:
- while you are in a trance, you're completely aware of everything around you.
- your mind will only accept what is beneficial to you.
- you cannot be made to do anything that you do not want to do - you are fully in control throughout the trance
- you are not expected to recount and relive painful memories or experiences. During therapy sessions, you are only required to look towards positive goals that you wish to achieve.
Once in a trance your subconscious mind becomes receptive to positive suggestions and allows you to gain the insights and understandings necessary to promote a change for the better. Solution Focused Therapy
Shelley utilises Solution Focused Therapy which is a practical, modern and well researched form of therapy to help people make significant and positive changes in their lives. Solution Focused Therapy uses the best of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, NLP and Ericksonian techniques in order to get people to recognise their abilities that often appear beyond their control. It is now recognised as one of the most successful forms of therapy for Depression, Anxiety, and Panic Attacks.

Treatment
