Physiotherapy is concerned with the manipulation and rehabilitation of the body’s soft tissues.

Why is Physiotherapy good for Mother and Baby?

Pregnancy and birth causes huge changes within the body at a rapid pace as life style changes such as reduced exercises. This can lead to tight painful muscles as well as injuries.

Having a few sessions with a Physiotherapist before giving birth to can help to strengthen your core muscles, provide you with some good safe stretches, as well as helping you plan your return to exercise after birth.

If you develop injuries during pregnancy our Physios are skilled in treating pregnant women safely and effectively easing the stress and strain of those first 9 months of motherhood. Most injuries however, happen after the baby arrives with thoracic muscle pain and sacro-illiac/low back pain being the most common.

Did you know?
Lower back and pelvic pain are common during pregnancy and in the months immediately after giving birth.
