Massage & Bodywork

Touch is very important and extremely beneficial for mums-to-be. With all the nurturing they have to do, it's vital that they feel nurtured too.

Why is Massage good for Mother and Baby?

Pregnancy is a time of unique physical and emotional transformation and whilst it can be joyful and exciting, for many women it also presents all kinds of challenges. Massage during and after pregnancy is a wonderful, natural support and can alleviate many pregnancy-related symptoms. Some of the benefits include:

  • Relieves muscle cramps, spasms, and pain
  • Eases backahes, headaches, shoulder and neck aches
  • Decreases pain in the pelvic/hip area and legs
  • Reduces stress on weight-bearing joints
  • Enhances flexibility
  • Improves skin elasticity
  • Increases blood and lymph circulation, reducing swelling
  • Reduces blood pressure
  • Boosts immunity
  • Helps stabilise hormone levels
  • Eases stress and anxiety
  • Promote relaxation and deep breathing
  • Improves foetal nourishment
  • Improves outcome of labour

With the arrival of a new baby, women's needs are often disregarded, even though they may be experiencing physical discomfort and emotional ups and downs. In such circumstances, post-natal massage is equally valuable and a great way to provide physical and emotional support.

Your massage will be tailored to suit your individual needs and will be delivered with presence and sensitivity, using natural, unscented oil.
